The sun was shining and something was up.
Mom was smiling and packing my lunch.
I looked out the window and what did I see?
It was aunt Dob coming for me.
I knew this was great because she drove the van,
she placed me inside and kissed my little hand.
Up and down the hills we drove,
"weee" I'd say, as the butterflies rose.
It wasn't too long when we came to a stop.
I looked around me and I was in shock.
"This is my park because no one is here"
I took off a runnin and yelled out a cheer.
At first I ignored it, pretending not to see.
Surely not, surely not, not little me.
I went on to play but just had to ask,
and finally I said it, "Dobby what's that?"
There is really nothing like it, nothing like it for miles.
That's "The Big Slide" she said with a smile.
I just had to know all about "The Big Slide."
I knew it was special from the feeling inside.
It looks very high, nearly reaching the clouds.
If something went wrong I would surely fall down.
I just had to know, I just had to see,
if "The Big Slide" was something for me.
Up that very tall ladder we went
aunt Dobby behind me counting-off the assent.
1,2,3, 4,5,6, 7,8,9, 10.
I was at the top, counting all the way
but saw what came next and decided to stay.
Dobby said, "It's ok,
I like it up here and we have all day."
But enough is enough, I just had to go
"Push me aunt Dob I can't do it alone."
Down I went with the wind in my hair,
my sneakers were screaming but I was not scared.
I landed it perfect and wow was I proud.
Dob was stuck at the top, that's when I turned around.
She said, "There's a rule about slides", as she looked in my eyes.
"If you climb up the ladder, you slide down the slide."
She got up the nerve and down she slid.
She was like me at that moment a cute little kid.
So, we decided to do it again
and again, and again, and again.
We needed a break, what else can be found?
We turned our attention to the merry-go-round.
"Hold on tight" was the rule to this game,
but I found round and round just wasn't the same.
Next on the list, I tried the swings.
Back and forth, back and forth while aunt Dobby sings.
I liked it a lot and laughed big out loud.
But the swings made me dizzy... had to lay on the ground.
There's really nothing like it, nothing like it for miles.
It's fun and fast and makes me smile.
Everyone loves it, feeling happy inside.
